Windshield Oklahoma - Beaver Kits

This is one of three beaver kits that live in our middle pond.  This photo was taken last week at around 8:00 pm.  My kids were a little unsettled so I took them on an evening nature walk.  Early morning and late evening is the best time to see the beaver kits.
I think they were born in the spring.  They are so curious that they tease the dogs.  It is a game of cat and mouse or kit and dog.
Redbird is cheering the dogs on knowing they will never catch a beaver kit.
In this shot you can see how far apart the kits and dogs are.  There is one little kit in the top right.  You can barely make out it's little head.  Those yellow flowery weeds are a nuisance.  They call them bitterroot around here but I don't think that is the correct name.  Any ideas?
What a pretty picture.
It's getting late we better get home little brother.

Watch what they do and be wise.

Have a great day.

Father's Day Gift Ideas - What Works For Us

Okay here are few gift ideas for Father's Day.  These are things that work for us.

If you or the dad in your life are a true OSU Cowboy fan you must have this book, Veteran of the Old West, Pistol Pete by Frank "Pistol Pete" Eaton.  What an interesting man.  He was so much more than a mascot.
Did you know at age seventeen he was a deputy U.S. Marshall under Judge Isaac Parker?  When he was 8 years old his father was murdered and so Eaton learned to shoot a gun just to avenge his father's death.  Nineteen years later he did.  Even though he was born with his left eye crossed he became a superior gunman. www.legendsofamerica.com
Go here to watch a video of the history of Pistol Pete.
Now this book is hard to find.  It is available from private sellers on Amazon for the price of $50.00 to $150.00.  I found mine on ebay for $24.95.  I'm sure it is also in your local library.

NiteLite from HuntSmart.com

These rechargeable flashlights are a wonderful gift.  For one thing they are made in America, Clarksville, Arkansas to be exact.  They are pricey, but worth it.  My husband was working in Arkansas a few weeks ago and stopped by the factory store and got one for my son for $45.00.  In the catalog they are $49.99.  So far my son has thrown it 3 times and it has not broken also he has not been able to take it apart.  About nine years ago my husband bought this light outfit for hunting:
It still works great!
If your light does break all you have to do is send it back to the store and they will fix it or replace it.
If you are ever traveling through Clarksville you have to check out the factory store so many cool things to see and the kids will love it.

Now you have to check out Duluth Trading Co.  This store has unusual and hard to find items for your man.  My husband works construction so I bought this for him a couple of years ago:
Now his work truck is a lot more organized.  It is also great for a traveling man.  Duluth is known for its Longtail t-shirts, the cure for plumber's b_ _ t.  It is a t-shirt that is 3 inches longer than most t-shirts and comes in very large sizes, if necessary.  Other items include, cargo pants/short with lots of pockets, vests with lots of pocket, cool hats, and firehose pants(next thing on our list).
Duluth has also carries items for women.  I like their slogan:
No models allowed!  Real Woman Rule at Duluth Trading

Order a catalog its just fun to look through.

If still don't know what to get the dad in your life just go to the hardware store and buy some tool that you have never seen before.  When your man opens his present and looks puzzled tell him, "I knew you were needed this and I finally found one for you."
That's what its all about.
Have a great day.

P.S. I'm not getting anything for this endorsement these are just things that work for us.
