Last year we "Okies" celebrated our centennial. What I loved most about all the celebrations was the family histories. I have been researching my family history for a few years now and I came to realize that our stories should be shared. So, I'll start first, my family wasn't in the Land Run, some arrived sooner and some later via Arkansas, Missouri and Texas. Some hid in the woods until statehood. I'll share more later about how my family landed in Oklahoma. I'm happy they got here and thankfully never left. My Oklahoma roots run deep all the way to the Red River. One thing that is true, whether you were born here or just passing through Oklahoma is home.
Welcome home,
Territory Mom
